About Spain

Spain still leads the way as the top holiday destination for most people throughout Europe wishing to take advantage of its fantastic year round climate, especially in the southern regions of the Costa del Sol and Murcia.

With 9.2 million visitors in 2006 the Costa del Sol is still established as a firm favourite with the European tourist which is why so much money has been invested into the infrastructure in recent times, none other than the massive expansion of Malaga airport and the high speed train link from Madrid to Malaga which will further be connected all away along the coast through to San Pedro within the next 2-3 years.

Murcia and the Costa Blanca also continue with their expansion plans with ever increasing numbers of visitors taking advantage of cheaper property prices whilst still being able to savour over 320 days sunshine throughout the year.

With multi million pound developers such as Polaris World offering excellent value for money within their facility rich developments endorsed by such cult figures within the golf world such as Jack Nicklaus and his nine different golf courses, who would argue that this is nothing but positive moves for the everyday holiday maker and property investor.

Both the Costa del Sol and Murcia regions offer excellent golfing facilities along with miles of sandy beaches with an array of water sports for all ages.

The Costa del Sol (also known as The Costa del Golf) has now more than 50 golf courses to choose from for all standards of golfing enthusiasts.

This is not all that the Costa del Sol has to offer visitors, beautiful mountain ranges housing spectacular “white villages” steeped in history and traditions and extending to the Sierra Nevada where one can enjoy world championship snow skiing during the winter months.

Authentic flamenco dancing and traditional bullfighting are still performed on a regular basis, especially during the fiesta seasons where the street processions and parades are to be admired.

Further along the coast to Tarifa you will find a haven for the wind and kite surfer, with some of the best conditions for these ever popular sports combining fantastic sandy beaches, wonderful sunshine and the cooling winds as the Atlantic Ocean meets with the Mediterranean Sea.

Let us not forget the vast cultural aspects of the regions as well.

Andalucia has now become one of the top cultural tourist destinations with such attractions like the Arabian bell tower and the enormous cathedral in Seville, the Moorish Jewel at the foot of the Sierra Nevada mountain range and the spectacular Arabian Ahambra Palace in Granada.

The Moorish influence is remembered by the great Mosque, The Mesquita in Cordoba and then not forgetting the amazing Picasso museum in Malaga.

Malaga City Council has even applied to make the city the European Capital of Culture for 2016!

Murcia is also not without its history as it was once home to the ancient Iberians, Carthaginians, Romans, Visigoths as well as the Moors.

Murcia boasts the largest salt water lagoon on the continent of Europe known as the “Mar Menor” (Little sea), enclosed by sandbanks it provides magnificent warm waters with miles of sandy beaches for everyone to enjoy.

In both regions there is plenty of nightlife and gastronomy to be found, with traditional foods such as tapas, paella, grilled sea food and ice cold gazpacho as one of the locals favourite.

When it comes to nightlife though the meeting point for the jet set is without doubt in the region of the Costa del Sol and especially Puerto Banus and Marbella.

Stunning yachts being accessed by a continuous flow of Ferraris, Porches and Bentleys, Puerto Banus especially is the place to visit with your camera.

With elegant shops and some of the best restaurants around, it may not be cheap but definitely has to be experienced.

English is widely spoken in both regions, whilst this may seem off-putting to some it certainly has its advantages as a visitor; however should you wish to put your language skills to the test you do not have to venture too far inland to sample true local delights.

We look forward to offering you a warm welcome
